My Approach
There's More to the Story.
My work is conversational, active, and practical.
We'll pay attention to what's happening now, while also looking beneath the immediate problem to understand what's keeping you stuck - and what can help create meaningful, lasting change.
How I Work

Notice
We slow things down enough to notice what's happening - what you're feeling, how you're responding, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Understand
We get curious about what's underneath. Sometimes that means looking at past experiences, relationships, expectations, family patterns, or cultural influences.

Try Something Different
Insight matters, but change also requires practice. We'll explore different ways of communicating, responding, setting boundaries, or approaching the situation.

Build Lasting Change
The goal isn't simply to feel better for the moment. It's to understand yourself and your relationships more deeply so that change can continue beyond the therapy room.
Core Principles

Compassion Without Avoiding Accountability
I bring warmth, respect, and even humor into the room - but compassion doesn't mean avoiding difficult conversations. When it's helpful, I'll gently challenge you. Understanding why something happens doesn't mean ignoring what needs to change.

Flexible, Not Formulaic
Sometimes we'll look at the past; sometimes we'll stay firmly in the present. I may be quiet or active, focused on emotions or something practical. I follow what's useful to you - not a fixed script.

Root Cause, Lasting Change
I'm interested in more than temporary relief. Sometimes lasting change means looking beneath the present problem - at earlier experiences, relationships, family patterns, assumptions, or cultural influences - to understand what continues to shape you today.
Insight Is Important.
So Is What You Do With It.
Understanding why a pattern developed can be powerful - but insight alone doesn't always change it. Therapy also gives us a place to practice responding differently, having difficult conversations, setting boundaries, or trying something that may initially feel unfamiliar.
The goal is for what we discover in therapy to make a difference in your life outside of it.
You Are the Driver.
I'm the Navigator.
You are the expert on your life. You decide where you want to go. I bring training, experience, curiosity, and perspective to help you see what's keeping you stuck, understand the terrain, and discover different ways forward.
The direction is yours. We find the way together.
